George Walton, 87, of Stephenville, Texas, a retired teacher and plant stocker for Walmart, died Friday, February 5, 2010, at a local hospital. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Hogard officiating. Interment will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

He was born on June 8, 1922, to the late Stokley M. and Lottie Frances (McGee) Walton in Stephenville, Texas. He married Jean K, Ayres on July 13, 1946, in Bozeman, Montana. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a WWII Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Jean K. Walton of Stephenville, TX; his daughter, Naomi Ruth Walton of Stephenville, TX; his son, John Robert Walton and wife, Judith, of Newton, KS; and eight grandchildren, Jason Walton, Kyle Walton, Ashley Brummett, Elyssia Walton, Catherine Walton, Brittany Walton, Dean Walton, and Adam Walton.
